The Legend of a Priest Healer
Archived Letter from Richard R. Bury. Received April, 7th 2006
Dear Jenny,
I hope this finds you in excellent health. Actually, health is exactly what I wanted to talk to you about. I know of Richard's sickness. Lisa told me. And I know Richard values his privacy. That's why I'm writing you. I know of a priest in Cambridge. I hope you're not thinking I'm suggesting Richard see a priest because he's close to death but quite the contrary. This particular priest seems to have a special ability. You know me; I'm not a religious man, but I've heard some compelling stories about this priest. Well, I'll just get to the point.
A friend of mine, you might remember him, William Scott from Brandshires, found out quick and harsh that he had cancer running all through his bones (femur broke while slicing an apple). He was on his death bed and not expected to last seventy-two hours, but his brother in-law called in a favor from an old friend who happened to be this priest. I'm not sure what occurred in that room for the twenty-four hours that the priest was with him, but when he left, William followed him to the door. I admit, old Will had looked better, but the fact that he was even standing was a miracle unto itself. It's been three years since that day, and I just walked the rose garden with Will and he's still in remission. What I'm trying to say Jenny is, Will owes me a favor, I could ask if the priest could pay Richard a visit.
Just a suggestion. Let me know if I can help.
Yours,
Sam
